About JEE Advanced
IIT Delhi is conducting JEE Advanced 2020 on May 17, 2020. The mock test to practice for the exam has been made live on jeeadv.ac.in. Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) hold JEE Advanced in CBT mode and at a national level on a rotational basis. In 2020, IIT Delhi is holding the exam for UG engineering admission across 23 IITs. The top 2.5 lakh qualifiers of JEE Main 2020 will be allowed to appear for JEE Advanced 2020 exam. 10+2 candidates with more than 75% marks (or among top 20 percentiles), fulfilling the eligibility criteria, may apply from 3rd week of April 2020.
JEE Advanced is the only gateway for admission in one of the IITs. Around 106 UG engineering courses are offered across 23 IITs of the nation. To enrol in one of them, aspirants have to qualify both the papers in JEE Advanced.
The candidates can check below the eligibility criteria to appear for JEE Advanced 2020:
Age limit: There is an age limit to appear for JEE Advanced 2020.
- Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1995
- Five years relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1990.
Qualifying JEE Main 2020: Candidates should be among the top 2,45,000 (including all categories) in Paper-1 of JEE Main 2020. The number of candidates that are selected from each of the categories is as follows:

Attempt limit: Candidates get 2 attempts for JEE Advanced.
Appearance in Class 12 (or equivalent) examination: The candidates should have appeared in class 12 exam first time in either 2019 or 2020.
Admission in the IITs: The candidate must not have enrolled in any of the IITs before.
For the B.Arch Aspirants – Important Note.
– To take admission in the architecture courses in the IITs, the students need to qualify the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT).
– The candidates who qualify JEE Advanced can apply to appear in AAT.
– B. Arch. program is available at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee only.

JEE Advanced Exam Pattern
Candidates can check the exam pattern here, which will be followed in the exam.
- Mode: From 2018, the exam is conducting through online mode.
- Paper: JEE Advanced 2019 will be consisting of two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2). Both papers are compulsory to attempt.
- Exam Duration: 3 hours will be provided for each paper. Some extra time will be given to the PwD candidates.
- Shift: The paper 1 will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and paper 2 will be organized from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
- Type of Questions: Objective type questions will be asked in the exam.
- Language: The language of the exam will be in English and Hindi.
- Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects will be asked in the exam.
- Negative Marking: There is a provision of negative marking. It is different for each paper.

Registration & Application Process
Step 1: JEE Advanced 2020 Registration
- Visit the official website of JEE Advanced 2020.
- Enter JEE Main 2020 Roll Number and Password.
- Select a new password.
- You will be redirected to a new page containing personal and academic details.
- Provide basic data such as the language of question paper (English or Hindi), cities for the examination, etc.
- Save and move to the next step.
Step 2: Upload Documents
Documents required must be kept handy before filling the application form. Once the JEE Advanced application form is filled correctly, upload the required set of documents with the specifications.
- Upload high quality scanned images of your latest photograph and signature in JPEG format.
- The photograph should be more than 4kb and less than 40 kb in size
- The signature size should range from 1kb- 30kb.
- All other documents size should be more than 50kn and less than 300kb.
Step 3: Payment of Application Fee
JEE Advanced Registration Fee is neither refundable nor transferable. Pay the application fee and take the print out of the duly filled application at the end for further use. Note that JEE Advanced 2020 Application Form cannot be withdrawn after completion of registration.
Note: No separate facility will be provided for JEE Advanced Form Correction after the closure of the registration window.
Step 4: Printing of Confirmation Page
After the payment of fees, aspirants can submit the application form and save the confirmation page containing all the details for future references.

Documents Required For All Candidates
- In case the name is not the same as in the Class 10 certificate, gazette notification is required showing the change of name.
- Class 10 certificate if the Date of Birth is mentioned in it OR birth certificate.
- Class 12 (or equivalent examination) certificate (for those who appeared for this examination in 2020 or whose board declared the Class 12 (or equivalent examination) result after June 2016).
Additional Documents (if applicable)
- OBC-NCL Certificate should have been issued on or after April 01, 2020, as per the latest guidelines and updates on www.ncbc.in.
- Caste Certificate for SC/ST category, as per the latest guidelines of the Government of India.
- Certificate for PwD category: Physical Disability certificate (FORM-PwD II/III/IV whichever is applicable]) issued by the notified medical authority.
- Dyslexic candidate needs to submit FORM-DYSLEXIC 1 and 2 instead of FORM-PwD. The certificate must mention ‘SEVERE’ to enable the candidate to get the benefit of PwD category.
- Individual IITs may constitute a medical board at the time of admission to test the candidate’s level of disability.
- For candidates needing the services of a scribe: Request letter to the Chairman of IIT Roorkee (Form – Scribe).
- For candidates seeking admission under DS category: Certificate (FORM-DS) issued by a competent authority in the Directorate of Resettlement and Rehabilitation, New Delhi under the Ministry of Defence
or the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. - For PIO/OCI Card Holders: PIO/OCI Certificate, as applicable.

Preparation Tips
Setting up a good preparation strategy for JEE Advanced 2020 is very important while preparing for the exam to increase the chances to clear the exam. Some of the JEE Advanced 2020 preparation tips that the candidates can follow are:
- The candidates need to know their syllabus in details so that they can plan out their studies well.
- Creating a schedule or time-table can benefit the candidates as it will evenly distribute the time to be spent on each subject or topic.
- Good and well-recommended books have to be checked and studied from.
- Studying in a conceptual method is much better than rote learning.
- By solving mock tests and attempting sample papers, the candidates can practice and learn from their mistakes.
Result & Counselling
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be responsible for the counselling session of JEE Advanced qualified candidates. Registration has to be done and the candidates will have to select their choice of colleges and courses. Candidates will be allotted seats into the participating IITs according to their secured ranks, preferences and availability of seats.
JEE Advanced AAT Counselling 2020
The counselling for the JEE Advanced AAT 2020 qualified candidates will be conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The candidates will have to register through JoSAA where allotment will be done according to the candidate’s secured rank, preferences made and availability of seat.

Payment by SBI Debit Card/Internet Banking
At the time of payment of Application Fee, the option of “Pay Registration Fee” will be displayed. Click on it and system will automatically redirect to State Bank Multi Option Payment System (MOPS) page.
As per the candidate’s convenience, they may select any of the available options such as SBI Debit Card or Internet Banking. After successful payment, the candidate will be able to print the completed Registration Details page with UNIQUE Registration Number.
Payment by Cash using SBI Branch Option
In case of Cash payment, select “SBI Branch” and system will automatically generate bank challan. Take a printout of it and pay the application fee in cash at any SBI branch.
After successful payment, the candidate will be able to print complete registration details page with Unique Registration Number.
Payment for Exam Centres Outside India
Candidates seeking Exam centres outside India are required to pay the registration fee as mentioned above through International Debit or Credit Card issued by Foreign Banks and issued outside India. Payment in US $ (dollar) is not allowed through Debit or Credit Cards issued in India. After successful payment, the candidate will be able to print the completed Registration Details page with Unique Registration Number.
