About VIT Masters Entrance Examination
VITMEE is conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for the admissions in various courses such as MCA, M. Tech etc. Candidates interested in the given courses need to apply for the entrance exam as per the eligibility criteria set by the institutes. The admission is based on the marks scored by the candidate in the entrance exam.
VITMEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
- The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian National / PIO.
- Foreign Candidates studied/studying abroad can apply directly through foreign category only. A separate application form is made available. Kindly check our website for details
Age Limit:
- Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1998 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2020. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic. Candidates should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling, failing for which they will be disqualified.
Qualifying Examination:
Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2020 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2020, in any one of the following qualifying examinations :
- The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for
- Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.
- Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
- High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- As per VIT Norms, Regular 'NIOS' board candidates are also eligible for VITEEE. They should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.
Eligibility Criteria for the Qualifying Examination:
- Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2020 should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
- The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be a minimum aggregate of 50% for the following categories:
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST
- Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. CERTIFICATE TO PROVE COMMUNITY / NATIVITY should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
Subject Eligibility:
- Candidates who have opted for MPCEA(Maths / Physics/ Chemistry / English / Aptitude)in VITEEE 2020 are eligible for all the B.Tech. Programmes.
- Candidates who have opted for BPCEA(Biology / Physics/ Chemistry / English / Aptitude)in VITEEE 2020 are eligible for the following Bio stream programmes only. But after joining, registering Mathematics as bridge course is mandatory.
- B.Tech. Bio-engineering(VIT-Bhopal)
- B.Tech. Biotechnology(VIT, Vellore)
- B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering with specialisation in Bioinformatics(VIT, Vellore)
- B.Tech. Electronics and Communication with a specialisation in Biomedical Engineering(VIT, Vellore)

Marking Scheme & Pattern Highlights
- All Questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ)
- The aptitude section in VITEEE will be in addition to subjects viz. Maths or Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English. The number of questions for the respective sections in VITEEE will be, Maths or Biology (40 questions), Physics (35 questions), Chemistry (35 questions), Aptitude (10 questions) and English (5 questions).
- No Negative marks for wrong answers
- Mode of Exam: Online
- Duration: 2 Hours
- Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions
- Number of Questions: 100 (20 – English Language and 80 – Technical)
- Maximum marks will be 100. Each question will carry one mark.
- There is no negative marking.

Registration & Application Process
The process of applying for VITMEE 2020 includes the following 5 steps:
Stage 1: New User Registration
- Enter all the mandatory details carefully.
- A login password will be generated from VIT to the registered mobile number and email id.
Stage 2: Confirmation of password
- Sign – in by using email id and password received from VIT.
Stage 3: Filling the online application form
- Provide all relevant details carefully, before submission.
- An application number will be generated after submission.
- Refer your application number for all your future correspondence.
Stage 4: Uploading of Photo and Signature
The documents must be uploaded once all the details have been entered. The dimensions of both Photograph and Signature have been mentioned below:
- Photograph Image: Size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb with the dimension of 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm.
- Signature Image: Size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb with the dimension of 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm.
Stage 5: Payment of Application Fee
- The application fee is INR 1150 which can only be paid through Netbanking/Debit/Credit Card.
- At the time of the transaction, if the amount is debited please do not try to fill the new application form. Please wait for 24hrs and try for the payment once again using the same registered email id.
- If the amount is not debited, you can try making the payment again.
Important Note:
- Please do not send a hard copy of the filled-in VITMEE application form.
- Please retain the registered mobile no. and email id till the completion of the admission process.
- During counselling eligible candidate can select the campus and branch of study as per the order of merit and availability of seats in any of the campuses.
- Application Form Correction: Candidate can edit their online application contents except for Email ID., Mobile no. and correspondence address details until May 22, 2020 (Tentative).
Exam Centers
VIT University has tried to provide VITEEE 2020 Exam Centres in as many states as possible for the convenience of applicants. There is a total of 116 centres located across 33 states all over India. There are VITEEE exam centres in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and a multitude of other cities. Candidates are advised to carefully go through the list of VITEEE 2020 Exam Centres before filling the VIT Application form and VITEEE Slot Booking. Also, each centre will conduct an exam on different dates.

Preparation Tips
Keep in mind the following preparation tips to make it easy to clear the exam.
- Timetable: The first step is to prepare a timetable and write the time given to each section.
- Sample Papers: Practice the Sample Papers.
- Make Notes: Make short notes. It will help you at the time of revision.
- Analyse topics and revise: Candidates must analyse all the topics and revise accordingly.
- Use authentic material: Always use authentic books and mock tests for preparation.
Result & Counselling
VITEEE Counselling is expected to be held in the third week of May 2020. VITEEE has 2 phases- Phase 1 and Phase 2.
Phase 1 Counselling will be held in May and dates for Phase 2 counselling for remaining rank holders will be released afterwards. If seats remain vacant, the third phase of counselling will be conducted. Eligible candidates can select their choice of course amongst the courses offered at VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT Bhopal, and VIT Amravati on the day of Counselling as per the order of merit and availability.
Candidates must carry the following documents at the time of counselling:
- VITEEE 2020 e-admit card
- VITEEE Result copy
- Class Xth Board Certificate as D.O.B proof or any age proof document
- Mark sheet of the qualifying exam
- Community certificate (for SC/ST candidates only)
- Nativity certificate (for candidates belonging to J&K, NE states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura).
- Demand Draft of INR 30,000 drawn in favour of “VIT University” is payable at Vellore
Note: Fees paid at the counselling includes INR 10,000 and it is Non-refundable. Candidates without the fee will not be allowed to take part in this counselling.
Application Fees
Courses in VIT are divided into two groups i.e. Group A and B. The total fee for courses in Group A is INR 1,76,000 and that for Group B courses is INR 1,98,000. The academic fee structure for VIT University is given below.
